PS5 price offer sees cheapest ever UK PS5 deal with £140 off and game thrown in
Sony's PS5 console has never been so cheap - and you can order right now
During lockdown scalpers were selling PS5s to desperate consumers for huge markups, with PS5 Disc Edition consoles often fetching as much as £700 second-hand due to shortages caused by the pandemic.
Fast forward to this week and the latest limited time flash sale deal for the PS5 has the cutting edge PlayStation console available for the cheapest price it's ever been - with free delivery thrown in.
Normally retailing at £480 just for the console, Currys is offering the PS5 Disc Edition for just £399 with a free game included - normally £49.99 on its own if bought in the online PlayStation Store.
The game is Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and is currently listed at £49.99 on the UK PS Store.
That brings the total saving to an amazing £130 discount!
Even if you don't want that game, it still works out cheaper than other deals on the market and you can always trade it in or list it to sell and save yourself even more money.
To order, simply head here and grab the Sony PlayStation 5 & Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga bundle.
Alternatively, GAME UK also has a great deal on a PS5 Disc Edition with Saint's Row: Criminal Customs Edition included for £399.99, which is listed at £59.99 in the UK PS Store right now - that's an even bigger £140 saving against the RRP.
And finally, Argos has the PS5 for £417.99 with a free copy of Ratchet & Clank or Ghost of Tsushima, which may on the face of it seem a worse deal but both of these are highly respected Sony first party PS5 titles which are still fetching £69.99 asking prices on the PlayStation store, making the disc bundle for these two games an even bigger saving than normal!
Finally, if the pull of next day Prime delivery is just too great, the Amazon deal isn't as competitive as it doesn't come with a game, but is also available at £399 including delivery.
Sony has cut the price temporarily which is how retailers are making the offer but don't hang around, because it is a short term promotion and the price is set to go back up to £480 for the console within a few days' time.
PS5 disc edition has several advantages over the Digital Edition. As the name suggests, it has a disc drive, which is an Ultra HD 4k Bluray Disc drive capable of taking 100GB discs.
The pluses are that you can buy cheap disc games including second-hand games to play on the console, which often works out much cheaper than buying on the PlayStation store (as you can see from the bundles above).
PS5 Disc Edition also plays your old PS4 discs, and can play 4K Blurays too, which is handy if you want to buy a top notch movie on disc without worrying about a subscription to watch it.
Finally, because PS5 discs are 100GB, you can install games on the PS5 console storage much more quickly, because the data installs from the disc - so you don't need to use WiFi to finish off the installation. In most cases, the entire game can fit on the disc. By comparison, the Xbox only uses 50GB discs for games, so you almost always need to download more data to play.
