Samsung SDS to Unveil Generative AI Service Next Month
Samsung SDS is set to unveil its enterprise-level generative AI service next month. This will mark the first time Samsung’s generative AI service will be introduced to the public.
According to the electronics industry on Aug. 23, Samsung SDS will present the AI service under development at the “Real Summit 2023” scheduled for Sept. 12, to its clientele and the media. The Real Summit, held annually, is a platform where cloud technology success stories are shared. Demonstrations of the in-development generative AI service are expected at the event.
Samsung SDS has been progressing with the development of an enterprise-level generative AI service with enhanced security. High security and integration with the cloud are pivotal for enterprise-level generative AI. Unlike openly available AIs like ChatGPT, which learn from external data inputs, the enterprise version typically integrates with a more closed, internal cloud.
Having accumulated expertise through its cloud management service (MSP) business, Samsung SDS employs technologies such as the big data analytics platform Brightics AI and business automation tools like RPA. Recently, Samsung SDS filed for trademarks related to natural language processing software such as Simply Chat, and is in the process of reviewing related names.
Samsung Electronics, which is developing its own generative AI due to internal security issues, is known to be collaborating with Samsung SDS. Within Samsung Electronics, Samsung Research in the Device Experience (DX) division and SAIT (formerly known as the Advanced Institute of Technology) in the DS semiconductor division are diligently developing in-house generative AI.
